Our 'thanks' go to Burnham for hosting this game.  The weather was great and the players were excited and keen to get started.

From the start we were bright and cohesive.  Our link-up play and passing was excellent which soon resulted in a great goal from Cameron.  One up and we were on our way in a really fast fashion !!!  From the re-start, we pressurised well, pushing Burnham to double our lead.  Great play from our wingers and midfield fed Ellis up front who finished to extend our lead.  The first half continued to flow well for us as we finished 5 nil up.  Jacon weighed in with a goal as well as a second for both Cameron and Ellis.  This scoreline could have been more as we hit the woodwork multiple times as well !!.

The second half continued very much in the same vein as the first.  All players put in a great performance.  However, Burnham simply did not lie down making sure they pushed us all of the way.  There were a couple of occasions when we were left clean open at the back as we committed ourselves to far forward, with opportunities for Burnham to get on the scoresheet.  Our pace in retreating saved us on these occasions but this is something that we need to work upon.  That said, the work ethic of the players was great which allowed us to pile in more goals.  Both Ellis, Cameron, Jacob and Ben contributed giving us an over score of 11 goals.

The scoreline suggests that this was very much a one way game.  It was however certainly NOT this.  Burnham played their part in a great game and full credit must go to them for continuing right to the end whistle.  A very admirable showing from both teams.  Special mention must go to Jacob.  His performance for the team was great not only in his wing duties but also supporting midfield and defence.

Well done guys.  May this long continue !!!
