ABOUT THE CLUB

Axbridge Saxon Football Club has grown from small beginnings and now plays a real role in the community.

The Juniors club, holding the coveted FA Charter Club status, has 14 teams and almost 150 children from the town and surrounding villages spread over 12 age groups from Under 6s to Under 16s.

The Veterans club plays in the Bristol Casuals League for over 30's and has a strong emphasis on enjoyment and the social aspect of football with annual tours across Europe.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
